 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

   The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica has secured financing from the CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) to fund       

   the first two (2) years of the operationalization of the Multi-Purpose Packhouses in Roseau and  Portsmouth.  The Dominica Export

   Import Agency (DEXIA) is the Executing Agency for the Project and hereby seeks suitably qualified persons to fill the following     

   position:

 MARKETING OFFICER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

1. To be responsible for all the marketing and promotional activities of the Multi-Purpose Packhouses.

1.  To manage the Marketing Support Programme and to make recommendations to the Operations Manager for its effective implementation.

1. To conduct research for major exportable crops and provide updated profiles on potential crops to exporters, producers and marketing organizations.

1. To liaise with other support and collaborating agencies on matters relating to the marketing of Dominica’s fresh agricultural produce.

1. Expose exporters to various programmes in preparing and implementing appropriate procurement and export marketing strategies aimed at solving identified problems and achieving business goals.

1. Conduct research on appropriate and cost effective packaging for a selected range of agricultural produce.

1. Explore market opportunities for value added products under the Production Support Programme.

        QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Candidates should possess the following:

1. A recognized university degree in Marketing, Management or any combination of subjects in which Marketing is the major and/or equivalent professional qualification.

1. At least three (3) years work experience in business development with some experience in Agriculture and/or

Agri-business

     c)   Excellent oral communication and strong report writing skills required.
