  he Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica has secured financing from the CARICOM Development Fund CDF) to fund the first two (2) years of the operationalization of the Multi-Purpose Packhouses in Roseau and Portsmouth.

The Dominica Export Import Agency (DEXIA) is the Executing Agency for the Project and hereby seeks suitably qualified persons to fill the following position:

 ASSISTANT MANAGER – MULTI-PURPOSE PACKHOUSE (PORTSMOUTH)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

1. To provide overall management of the Multi-Purpose Packhouse at Portsmouth and to promote the effective utilization of the Packhouse.   

1. To assist in the coordination of the production and marketing support programmes for the Multi-Purpose Packhouses.

1. To plan and coordinate all activities of the Portsmouth Multi-Purpose Packhouses, ensuring that the activities are consistent with the objectives and set targets for the Work Programme.

1. To prepare quarterly work plans and quarterly reviews based on objectives of the Work Programme; monitoring regularly the progress and attainment of objectives.

1. To coordinate and assist where necessary in the provision of technical assistance and training to farmers and exporters.

1. to coordinate all direct trading activities of the Portsmouth Packhouse

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Candidates should possess the following:

1. A recognized university degree in Agriculture, Food Technology, Economics, Management, Marketing

            or any combination of subjects in which Management is the major and/or equivalent professional qualification.

1. At least three (3) years work experience in business development with some experience in Agriculture and/or

Agri-business.

1. Practical experience in Project Management.

     d)   Excellent oral communication and strong report writing skills required.
