ANNOUNCEMENT: Wildlife Export Permits

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Forestry, Wildlife and Parks Division would like to inform the general public, that all travelers wishing to export or take wildlife out of the country are required by law to obtain an export permit before travelling.

In order therefore to facilitate travelers, such wildlife export permits can be obtained at the following venues on the days and times indicated:

  1.    The Forestry, Wildlife and Parks Division head office in Roseau, (L. Rose Building) from Mondays to Fridays, 9:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 3:00 pm.
  1.    The out districts of Marigot and Portsmouth on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00 pm to 3:00pm. Payment for such must be made to the cashier at the respective sub-treasuries. The wildlife export permits will be issued by the forest officer in the district.

This permit allows only a limited amount of wildlife out of the country for example: 12-crab backs, 2-manicous, 2-agoutis (smoked or frozen), 5lb of crayfishes and 5 Ramier Birds. The cost per permit is $10.00.

The Forestry, Wildlife and Parks Division also would like to remind the public that anyone wishing to hunt and fish must be the holder of a valid hunting or fishing license. These licenses can also be obtained at the Forestry Division’s head office in Roseau and both sub-treasuries, at Portsmouth and Marigot.

The fees are as follows: Hunting: $25.00 and Fishing: $15.00.
