Dominica will welcome the Viking Sea on Tuesday November 13, 2018. The vessel will arrive at the Woodbridge Bay Port at 8:00am and will depart at 5:00pm. The vessel will bring approximately 1000 cruise passengers to the island’s shores. This will be the ship’s first of nine (9) calls to the island for the 2018/2019 cruise season.
To commemorate the event, a plaque ceremony will be held aboard ship from 10:00 am. Government officials and cruise stake holders will be present at the ceremony. A series of cultural entertainment will be held on the Woodbridge Bay Port from 8:00 am to 5:00pm.
Vikings Sea has a capacity of 1000 cruise passengers with a gross tonnage of 47,800. She offers destination-oriented cruising experience, with a few at-sea days, long in-ports days and more exciting overnights in key spots. The ship’s features include complimentary Wi-Fi, free shore excursions, wine and beer with no charge at dinner and lunch.
Viking Sea has a total of 465 cabins (of which 47 suite, 32 Penthouse, 386 Balcony rooms) in 18 grades. All cabins are balconied at 270 sq. feet, are 20% larger than the average standard staterooms.
A total of 181 cruise calls are projected for the 2018/2019 cruise season. This translates into a total of 304,031 cruise passengers. Dominica expects to welcome nine (9) new cruise ships to it shores. Inaugural ceremonies to include plaque exchanges will be held aboard the respective ships.
