Roseau, Dominica – October 30, 2012
A number of prominent individuals and organizations will be recognized for their outstanding contribution to public life at the Parade of Uniformed Groups on November 3, 2012.
At the ceremony, Meritorious Service Honours will be bestowed on fifteen (15) persons and organizations.
Mr. Leo Jules Bernard Nicholas, in the area of Trade Union Leadership and Mr. George Alexander Royer in the field of Public Service will receive Dominica’s second highest award, the Sisserou Award of Honour.
The third highest honour, the Meritorious Service Award will be conferred on Bishop Michael Bill Daniel (Pastoral Ministry), Mr. Clement Montgomery Carty (Cooperative Sector Management), Mr. Fred Anthony Nicholas (Music), Mr. Stephenson Hyacinth (Drama), Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) Mission (Eye and Vision Care), the Dominica Association of St. Thomas, Inc. for Community Service, and Mr. Rawlings Franklyn Adolphus Jemmott for Trade Union Leadership.
A number of persons are also due to receive the Services Medal of Honour, namely:
Ms. Renate Siegenthaler (Community Service)
Mr. Algernon Elias Fingal (Business)
Mr. Austin Harris (Fisheries)
Mr. Harold Albert Sealey (Poetry and Drama)
Long Service Medals of Honour will be conferred on Ms. Joan James (Health), and Mr. Peterson Austrie (Education).
The Parade of Uniformed Groups will take place on 3rd November, 2012 starting at 8.00 a.m. at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
