Prime Minister NOT DISTRACTED BY TALK OF CABINET RESHUFFLE
Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit says his administration will not be distracted by debate surrounding a recent newspaper and online article which suggested that a cabinet reshuffle is imminent.
The Dominica leader told reporters last week that while he will not confirm nor deny plans for a reshuffle there are more important matters which the government is focused on.
“I don’t think it is something that requires public debate or discussion. We’re not going to get distracted. We’ve done a lot and we [still] have a lot of work to do. With this present economic difficulty confronting Dominica and the rest of the world, you have to be very focused in addressing the situation confronting our people so all these side shows and side acts, I really don’t like getting involved in them.”
He noted further that if a reshuffle of cabinet is done, the entire nation will be informed.
"There is always the issue of a cabinet reshuffle on the cards for the government. It’s not nothing new; it’s not a groundbreaking exercise. I mean this is something that every government goes through from time to time. It’s a matter of when do you do it, how do you do it and so forth. Once it is done, if it is going to be done then the people will be informed as we have done all of the time.”
