Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Telecommunications and Broadcasting, Honourable Oscar George also extended his sympathies to those who mourn the loss of Mr. Henderson.

“I want to express my deepest sympathies to the family and friends and also the wider Dominican population on the passing of our dear friend Mr. Felix Henderson. Although it was common knowledge that Felix was very ill but I am sure that the information of his passing will always bring sadness to many. And it’s at times like these, it is very important that we provide support to the friends and family of any deceased. Felix will definitely resonate as a Dominican hero for his significant contributions to the field of broadcasting and in particular for the creole art form where he changed the mindset surrounding the language especially in the rural areas around Dominica. Felix as we know has received many awards for his work in the creole art form and the humor which he brought to his commercials also made him quite popular and I am sure that his legacy will leave on far into the future. Dominica has lost a very dedicated and committed individual who provided leadership at the community level and who was a true cultural icon. He will definitely go down in our history as someone who has shaped Dominica’s culture, and laid the platform for many generations to come. It is now left to the younger ones among us to continue his legacy. I want to say to his family stay strong and keep the faith. I know that he is no longer with us but trust me he is in a better place where he will no longer suffer from illness. We do pray that God continues to watch over his family as they face this very difficult time,” Minister George stated.

We at the Government Information Service extends deepest condolences to the family and friends of the late Felix Henderson.
