The Dominica Labour Party Administration has yet again broken ground for another hotel under the economic arm of the Citizenship by Investment Programme.
Ground was broken last week Friday for the Sanctuary Rainforest Eco Resort and Spa in Providence Laudat.
The signing ceremony between the Government of Dominica and the Vital Developers LTD took place on February 11th, 2019.
Over the years the Roseau Valley has been known to be the tourism hub of Dominica.
This area can boast of its soothing hot water spas, lush green vegetations and waterfalls.
Managing Director of Vital Developers LTD. Alexander Berenstain, gave details of the sixty-one room resort and spa.
“The resort will consist of seventy-two rooms, and these seventy-two villa units will have two pools, one heated pool and one normal pool. It will have two restaurants, two bars, a spa, a meditation area, and a yoga area. There will also be a very nice high tree top walkway. This will be high rise, about eight to ten meters of the ground with a very nice view,” he stated.
One hundred and twenty people will employed in the construction phase of the while one hundred and ten people will be permanently employed after the project is completed. These hotel developments are positive benefits to Dominica bringing foreign exchange and employment.
“We will aim to primarily employ people from the Roseau Valley and Roseau area, but of course the job opportunities will be open for all Dominicans without exclusion. Also we really hope that the surrounding areas and people will take this opportunity to open nearby businesses where the guests of the hotel can come and visit some different types of restaurants sulphur spas and so on and so forth,” Berenstain further added.
