Farmers in the Marigot and Londonderry areas can rest assured that their feeder roads will be addressed.
The Hon. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says that these roads are top of the list of those to be addressed under the Banana Accompanying Measures programme BAM).
He was speaking on Talking Point radio programme last Wednesday April 15th.
“We have treated the feeder roads [with the help of BAM] as priority and we’re making progress in this. Once the present review of the list of feeder roads has been done by the European Union…we’ll move to the process of tendering.”
The Prime Minister added that a consultant has been on island for the past few months with the responsibility of reviewing the list.
“I can say to the farmers of Marigot and Londonderry that Caye-en-Bouc/Vauxhallis one of the major roads to be considered,” he said.
The Banana Accompanying Measures Programme was launched in May 2013 to provide financial support to the banana sectors of supporting African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.
