Public Relations and sensitization remains an important component of public sector modernization and as a result the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Unit of the Establishment, Personnel and Training Department has organized an “ICT/E-Government Open House” scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 on the ground floor of the Government Headquarters from 9:00am.
The objective of the Open House is to facilitate the dissemination of information through an informative and interactive display of ongoing ICT/E-Government initiatives.
During this activity, the ICT Unit will utilize the opportunity to display and demonstrate various e-Government initiatives that are presently being implemented by the Government of Dominica. These E-Government projects include: Customs and Excise Division - ASYCUDA World, Connect2Government, Unified Land Information System (ULIS), Online Business Registration, and the Employee Portal. On that day staff from the ICT Unit as well as staff from the other Divisions and Ministries who are responsible for the implementation of these various e-Government initiatives will educate public officers and the general public on the key areas of these projects.
The highlight of this event will be the promotion of Government’s recently launched Connect2Government Web Application System. Connect2Government can be described as a web based-help desk system which will allow an Operator to query clients’ questions/inquires using a Frequently Asked Question Database. This new system will offer quick and easy access to essential information on government services. The application forms part of Government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and availability of information to the general public.
The general public is invited to attend the Open House.
