Plans are underway for the construction of twenty washroom facilities in the community of Laudat as Government continues to expand its programme to eliminate pit latrines in the country.
The contracts for eight of these facilities were signed during a meeting with residents at the Laudat Primary School on Wednesday July 19.
In his remarks at that meeting, the Hon Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Valley, Dr John Colin Mc Intrye informed residents that a shortage in manpower is delaying the contract-signing for the additional facilities and housing projects due to commence soon in the constituency.
Two contractors will be engaged on this project.
The Hon MP also expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the ongoing infrastructural works in the constituency. One of these is the rehabilitation of the Ta Quet road in Laudat. He describes this as a major achievement for the community.
Anthia Bertrand has lived in Ta Quet for over thirty years. She took the opportunity to thank the Hon Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and the Hon Member of Parliament, Dr John Colin Mc Intyre for bringing such development in the Ta Quet area.
The Hon Member of Parliament vowed to continue to work for the people of Laudat for the further development of the community.
