On Monday Morning, six computers each were formally presented to the Western District Seventh Day Adventist Primary School and the Kalleb John Laurent Primary School to upgrade computer lab facilities at these schools.
Hon Member of Parliament for St. Joseph, Kelver Darroux says upon visits to these institutions he noted the need for the upgrades and made the promise at recent town hall meetings to fulfill those needs. Hon Darroux says he is pleased to make this contribution as education is one of his primary focuses.
These new computers will allow students better access to conduct research and it is hoped that their overall performance will also improve.
“One of the priority areas for me is the area of education and that is why I felt it necessary to make this investment in the lives of students…each of the schools will be receiving six computers in the first instance and we will be providing them with additional hardware and software as time goes on,” Hon Darroux said.
Principal of the Seventh Day Adventist Primary school and teacher at the Kalleb John Laurent Primary School told Hon Darroux that this gift was well received.
The twelve computers came at a cost of $12,750.00.
