A reviewed list for 2017/2018 cruise calls revealed increased tourist arrivals and a need for more collaboration between stakeholders.
Speaking at a townhall meeting last Wednesday, the Hon minister for tourism, senator Robert Tonge informed, “We have reconfirmed with all of the ships to make sure that they are coming and I can say to you, you are going to have an increase of over 50,000 visitors coming to Dominica as compared to the previous years.”
He informed that at a recent Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association, (FCCA) conference, cruiselines confirmed that Dominica’s scores are improving.
Hon Tonge explained the importance of giving tourists a good experience and explained that their rating of the Dominica experience contributes to the scoring system.
The Hon Minister appealed to stakeholders in the tourism sector to work together to continue improving Dominica’s cruise scores.
The 2017/2018 cruise season begins in October.
