Several families in the La Plaine constituency will soon benefit from government's nationwide sanitation programme. The Hon Parliamentary Representative for the La Plaine constituency Petter Saint Jean, confirmed on Saturday that contracts have been signed and work has already begun on facilities in La Plaine.
He informed that ten contracts have been signed with ten different contractors and over the next six weeks thirty families will receive facilities
Funds have also been approved for the construction of twelve washrooms in Boetica and an additional 22 in Delices.
“When once we have signed those contracts and we expect that to be done within the next week and a half, the people of Delices and Boetica will have 100% homes with washrooms…,” The MP touted.
The sanitation programme includes construction of washroom facilities for households without and forms part of Government’s ongoing effort to eradicate the use of pit latrines on the island.
