Seven residents of La Plaine now have brand new homes compliments the Government of Dominica. The new home-owners received their keys during a ceremony in La Plaine on Saturday March 18.
The Hon Parliamentary Representative for the La Plaine Constituency, Petter Saint Jean says taking care of the needs of his constituents is his primary goal.
“I believe that as Parl Rep, I have a legal and moral and a Christian responsibility to attend to the needs of my constituents, even if I have to walk from La Plaine to Roseau on my knees and back…I shall take care of the needs of my constituents,” he told the community.
The Hon Minister for Housing and Water Resource Management, Reginald Austrie believes this is a significant moment for the beneficiaries who now own what many take for granted.
For the recipients, Saturday’s ceremony was a life-changing moment.
The project was funded by Government’s Citizenship by Investment Programme. The Hon Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, at a town hall meeting in La Plaine earlier this month committed a further $1M towards the project.
