The MV Minerva of UK company, Swan Hellenic Cruises made its first call to Dominica on Wednesday December 23rd.

The ship, which has been in service since 1996, has a passenger capacity of 350 and crew capacity of 160.

Captain Neil Broomhall and his crew hosted a small welcome ceremony on board at Woodbridge Bay to mark the start of a new relationship.

While this was the ship’s first call, Captain Neil Broomhall, however, is no stranger to the nature isle. He revealed that he took his family on vacation to Dominica and as Captain, has taken scores of passengers to discover for themselves.

As usual, the ship’s agent, Whitchurch Travels welcomed the new ship with a few words and a basket of local craft and souvenir items.

The ship left port later than most at about 11pm on Wednesday evening.
