The Hon Minister for Education and Human Resource Development, Petter Saint Jean says his Ministry continues on its drive towards technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
TVET involves teaching basic and skills to make learners more marketable.
In an interview with GIS News on Friday December 4th, the Hon. Minister stated, “We train our workforce in preparation for what is being offered out there. There is also the aspect of retooling the individuals already in the workforce.
With TVET, there was the need to setup a TVET Council and recently we established that as well as the Secretariat manned by a coordinator.
We are happy to note that the staff out there has faced the challenge and are moving forward in ensuring that TVET becomes ‘the thing’ in education and employment creation in Dominica and further afield.”
The Minister was speaking at Parliament last Thursday November 26th.
