The Government of Dominica is committed to the protection of the island’s tourism industry. Twenty new constables will be employed to police the beaches of Batibou in Hampstead, Calibishie and Woodford Hill.
Tourism minister Hon. Ian Douglas stated this while addressing the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) supporters at Sunday’s delegate’s conference in St. Joseph.
He says, “We cannot allow our assets to be threatened by a few criminals. We are peace loving people, law abiding citizens; we cannot allow these thugs to hold us hostage. At this delegate’s conference I want to go on record as praising the police for a great job that they continue to do. They are solving the crimes and they are apprehending the criminals. They continue to exactly what is expected of them and we say kudos to the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force.”
