Your Excellency,

I am pleased to welcome you to our Country and to receive your Letter of Credence from His Excellency President Barack Obama accrediting you to the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Commonwealth of Dominica. I am also pleased to acknowledge the Letter of Recall of your Predecessor, Her Excellency Mary Martin Ourisman.

I note your commitment to continue and deepen the work of your Predecessor in maintaining and strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation which already exist between our countries. We look forward to the strengthening of mutual cooperation in areas of common interest and to even closer ties as we continue in our search for a brighter future for us all.

Since the formalizing of ties between our countries in 1979, Dominica has been the beneficiary of assistance from the United States of America.  This has greatly contributed to our national development effort.  It is my sincere hope that Dominica will continue to benefit from your country’s expertise, and that of your people, and the opportunity of building and deepening international goodwill.

Together we can continue working to expand our trade and investment opportunities and cooperate effectively to protect and preserve the environment, and to explore cooperation in the areas of Agriculture and education.

We are Your Excellency grateful for the assistance which the Government of the United States of America extends through the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI) that focuses on increasing citizen safety and reducing illicit trafficking.

Our cooperation with your country in the international arena can be counted upon, and we look forward to providing continued support for the candidacy of the United States of America on various international bodies in appropriate circumstances.

It is my hope that your assignment will not only be fruitful and rewarding, but that you will experience the renowned warmth and hospitality of the Government and people of our Country.

I take this opportunity to ask your Excellency to convey to His Excellency President Barack Obama, the best wishes of my Government and the people of the Commonwealth of Dominica, and my personal good wishes for his continued good health and well being, and the prosperity of the people of the United States of America.

Please enjoy your stay among us.
